The USB-KW40Z simplifies wireless connectivity development for Internet of Things (IoT) applications and is an ideal platform on which developers can quickly create and debug both Bluetooth Low Energy and IEEE 802.15.4-based systems. Powered by Kinetis KW40Z, the USB-KW40Z is the first development solution in the industry to support the latest Bluetooth 5 features. The board supports 2 MB of dual-bank flash memory and 384 KB RAM for applications and is operated with a voltage range of 1.8V-3.3V.
The USB-KW40Z is equipped with a range of features and functions to enable rapid prototyping and development. This includes a 20-pin header for UART, I2C, SPI, 12 analog functions and 20 digital functions. It also comes with an integrated NFC antenna, CryptoAuthentication support, and features a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna and transceiver. The USB-KW40Z also has a range of software tools for development, such as NXP Kinetis Design Studio with integrated Processor Expert, KinetisSDK, Software Packs and MCUXpresso IDE.
The USB-KW40Z has a few other notable features that facilitate quick development. It has a low-power radio sub-system with flexible transmit and receive power control and data rate ranges up to 4 Mbps over the Bluetooth® 2.4 GHz radio band.
