UNITED POWER TECHNOLOGY 28CH55GR (hereinafter referred to as UTP28CH55GR) is a 28A charge and discharge rated current, 0.6-1.2V working voltage Intelligent Battery Pack Protection Board, which is developed by UNITIED POWER TECHNOLOGY. It can provide both protection for the BMS(Battery Management System) system and optimized it. UTP28CH55GR consists of a microcontroller (MCU) expansion MCU module (COMs), two charge and discharge MOSFETs module, current sense module, temperature sense module, ADC module, I2C module, Anti-reverse Connector and some other components. The working principle of UTP28CH55GR involves multiple processes and the MCU will be the central processor for these multiple processes.

UTP28CH55GR designed for digital intelligent battery protection, can work with 3S~52S(Max. 600V) lithium-ion batteries and has advanced functions like power on active, discharge high/low voltage protection, current overcharge/discharge/overflow protection, short circuit detection, temperature protection, balance protection, health management and communication with multiple external sensors or other device. The board has a wide range of applications in different fields such as energy storage, industrial application, power tools, e-bikes and medical industry.

The working principle of UTP28CH55GR involves multiple processes, all of which are controlled by the MCU which is the central processor for these multiple processes. It is used to realize the active protection of lithium battery pack, which is composed of cells connected in series. When the voltage of a single battery in the battery pack is higher or lower than the preset value, the MCU will detect the voltage signals of the cells in the battery pack to adjust the resistance of the MOSFETs in order to balance the voltage of cells in the battery pack. While the battery pack is being recharged, the current sense module and its corresponding hardware circuits will detect the current and temperature signals of all cells in the battery pack to enable the microcontroller (MCU) to judge the malfunctions such as overcharge, discharge, short circuit, reversed connection and temperature protection. It can also communicate with external sensors or other device through I2C communication protocol.
