UTP28SP115GR (hereby referred to as the UTP) is an interconnect technology designed for high-speed applications and is used in a variety of application fields for its robust physical interface and theoretical bandwidth. The UTP consists of four twisted pairs of signals which enable its higher data rate utilization and allow for Power over Ethernet applications. The UTP offers the transmission range of up to 30 km as well as an integrated 10 Mbps mode and the capability of extending to 10 Gbps. The UTP cable is available in several configurations and is suitable for both patch and jumpering applications. From a physical perspective, the UTP is a shielded twisted pair cable featuring four twisted pairs that are grouped into two sections. The first section contains pairs 1 and 2, while the second contains pairs 3 and 4. To realize the high capacity of the UTP, the signals have to be precisely spaced and transmitted in a specific order. The signals are sent in a manner that ensures that each signal is sent after the previous one has completed. The UTP utilizes Manchester Encoding scheme that enables the transmission of alternating signals on the pairs, with the main data line being the clock signal. This encoding also enables the data to be sent in bursts rather than continuous. The UTP is mainly used for data transmission as it adds features such as dynamic segmentation and reassembly, data rate control, link integrity information, power control, and length control to a data stream. This technique also helps to reduce the latency associated with data transmission, resulting in higher throughput.
