UTPCH15MORY is an advanced technology offering high-performance, ultra-dense nonvolatile memory for applications ranging from industrial storage and automotive navigation systems to avionics, network infrastructure, PCs, PDAs, and cellular phones. The device is based on state-of-the-art floating-gate transistors and is capable of storing data for an extended period of time without power. It also features a self-timing write capability, enabling it to be rapidly programmed.The UTPCH15MORY technology provides a highly integrated, nonvolatile memory system with no refresh operation or charge/discharge cycles necessary to maintain data retention. And, compared with other memory technologies, UTPCH15MORY memory devices require 10-100 times less energy for a program or read operation, making them well suited for low power applications.In addition to its low power requirements, the UTPCH15MORY technology offers fast write times, high endurance, long data retention, and a wide variety of write mechanisms. Among these write mechanisms are low voltage pulse, self-timed, clock-synchronized, and voltage-controlled data writing, each of which is designed for different application requirements. UTPCH15MORY devices also feature page mode write, which enables faster programming compared with traditional write mechanisms.The working principle of UTPCH15MORY memory is based on the formation and maintenance of a voltage-controlled conductive layer between the channel and substrate of a transistor. This layer is formed and maintained by applying hot electrons to the floating gate in a process known as injecting electrons. To program the memory, a small voltage is applied to the transistor, which is combined with a large programming voltage applied to the gate oxide to inject electrons into the floating gate. To erase the memory, a large voltage is applied to the gate oxide with a small voltage on the channel, which depletes electrons from the floating gate.Some applications of UTPCH15MORY memory include automotive infotainment systems, industrial process control, and product tracking. In automotive infotainment systems, UTPCH15MORY memory provides efficient storage of user preferences such as audio settings, radio station lists, navigation settings, and climate control settings.
