V048F080T030-CB is an evaluation board mainly used for DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. It contains four parts: switching regulator, DSP controller, protection devices and high power external components, making it an ideal tool for designing in the field of DC/DC & AC/DC power systems.The V048F080T030-CB evaluation board works based on two principles: frequency modulation and synchronous rectification. In order to regulate output voltage, frequency modulation is employed. This process is based on a current-mode control architecture and works to achieve a voltage feedback loop. This allows for fast over-voltage protection in case of over-voltage conditions. On the other hand, synchronous rectification helps to reduce power dissipation. This process is also based on current-mode control and employs two low-power N-MOSFETs to enable conversion of AC voltage to a low-voltage DC output voltage.Firstly, an AC input voltage is fed into a device called an EMI filter which removes any unwanted AC ripple present in the incoming voltage. This signal is then connected to a full-bridge rectifier which controls the voltage level of the AC line and converts the AC signal to a DC voltage. This DC voltage is then fed into the switching regulator or buck regulator of the V048F080T030-CB evaluation board. This buck regulator is then connected to a DSP controller, which is used to adjust the output voltage level by frequency modulation.Once the output voltage level is determined, the DSP controller then sends a signal to an external N-MOSFET, which is connected to the switching regulator. The N-MOSFET then turns on and off at a specific frequency. This allows for a controlled output voltage as well as easy over-voltage protection. Finally, the output voltage is sent to a synchronous rectifier which is also connected to two N-MOSFETs. This synchronous rectifier works to reduce the power dissipation and helps to increase the overall efficiency of the evaluation board.The V048F080T030-CB evaluation board is widely used in many applications such as automotive power components, telecommunications, motor control, appliances, lighting, solar, and medical equipments.
