TVS - Varistors, MOVs are widely used in a variety of applications, such as overvoltage protection, surge protection, limit transient voltage, and protect from voltage transients. The most commonly used components are V07E20P.V07E20P is also known as VDRs (Voltage Dependent Resistors), which are basically non-linear resistors. They have special metal oxide components that have a large non-linear resistance across a range of voltage. This allows them to have a wide range of resistance at different applied voltages. V07E20P components are most commonly used to protect electronic components and systems from voltage transients produced by power surges and lightning.The working principle of V07E20P is based on the reverse-biasing effect that occurs when the voltage exceeds a certain level, called the breakdown voltage. At this point the voltage-dependent resistor exhibits a high impedance which prevents the transient current from damaging the sensitive electronic components and systems. When the applied voltage is less than the breakdown voltage, the resistor acts like a high impedance. Under these conditions, it provides protection to the sensitive circuit elements.V07E20P has numerous applications in the fields of power system protection, such as in surge protection, overvoltage protection and in limit applications, such as in automotive and industrial electronics.In surge protection, V07E20P components are used to reduce the effects of power system transients, such as lightning, inductive loads, or other higher voltages. A voltage-dependent resistor is placed at the junction point between the power supply line and the end equipment. If a transient occurs, the VDR will shunt the current away from the sensitive elements, thus protecting them from being damaged.In overvoltage protection, V07E20P components are used to limit the voltage to just below the breakdown voltage of the device. This ensures that the protected circuit is not subjected to excessive voltage spikes which could cause serious damage.VDRs can also be used in the automotive and industrial electronics to provide limit applications. They can be used to limit the voltage on the electrical circuit to a set voltage, thereby preventing any further damage to the circuit.VDRs also serve as an economical way of limiting transients, as they can be easily integrated into existing power supply systems. Furthermore, their small size makes them ideal for tight spaces in complex electronic systems.So, the V07E20P has a wide range of applications due to its metal-oxide composition. It is capable of protecting the electronic components and systems from voltage transients. And, as the breakdown voltage is adjustable, the VDRs provide an efficient way of protection.
