The V103AYLFT is an optical transceiver module designed to enable the convergence of data, voice and video services on a single optical fiber system. This device is an integrated module combining an optical transmitter and receiver, which is hence referred to as a transceiver. It is an ideal choice for a range of short-medium range applications in the fields of communication, storage, and test and measurement. Having a very compact size, the V103AYLFT contains both the transmit and receive functionalities in one small package, making it very easy to install and maintain.The V103AYLFT uses dry stone (VCSEL based) transmission technology to maximize the optical connection reliability. It is a compact module that does not require extensive ventilation, thus making it more suitable for installations in limited spaces. With the ability to emit and detect signals from up to 10km, the V103AYLFT is capable of transmitting and receiving data over distances up to 8km. This makes the V103AYLFT a good choice for data applications including digital radio, cellular communication, video distribution etc. Additionally, this high performance module is also compatible with various digital and analog applications such as access/multiplex networks, WDM systems as well as legacy equipment etc.The V103AYLFT transceiver uses a digital signal processor (DSP) to operate with a wavelength of 1310nm. The transmitted signal is amplified by a power amplifier to ensure maximum distance. As the signal is able to travel further, the link budget is improved and it also becomes capable of being subjected to different environmental conditions. This transceiver features an advanced ‘Rapid Start Technology’ which allows it to start up quickly and almost instantly for data transmission as well as for low power operation. This feature is mainly useful for applications such as real-time bidirectional data transfer, synchronous and asynchronous communication etc.To ensure good quality, the data transmission speed of the V103AYLFT transceiver is very high. It is capable of transmitting up to 1Gbps of data at a rate of 1.5 Gbps and up to 10 Gbps. The data transmission speed can also be easily adjusted depending on the application’s requirement. Moreover, the V103AYLFT is fully hot pluggable meaning that it can be connected and replaced easily without the need to stop the functioning of the system. To ensure proper connection, the V103AYLFT transceiver uses a duplex LC connector. The connector has an angle of attack (AoA) of 0.25 degree which enables the module to lose minimal light while transmission and ensures reliable performance. Additionally, the module also has a key lock mechanism to guarantee an accurate connection and to prevent accidental powering-off. The V103AYLFT transceiver requires a 3.3V power supply for successful operation which can be derived from an external power supply or from an internal battery through a multiplexer. Additionally, the V103AYLFT also features a power monitor circuit which monitors the power levels during operation and indicates excessive power consumption. Overall, the V103AYLFT transceiver is an extremely reliable and versatile module for short-medium range applications in the fields of communication, storage, and test and measurement.
