Varistors, MOVs, or voltage-dependent resistors (VDRs), are passive, non-polarized electrical components that exhibit a steep increase in electrical resistance when exposed to a sudden pulse of applied voltage. The V180ZC20PX2855 is designed to protect against sudden voltage overloads and transients on a variety of electrical systems, from industrial to residential. The Varistor surge protector works on the principle of varistor action.
