.V270RA16X2749 is a Varistor which is designed for a wide range of transient voltage surge suppression applications. It is a multi-layered monolithic silicon semiconductor device that acts to protect sensitive electronic components from voltage transients caused by Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Lightning, and other sources of fast transient overvoltage. This varistor is composed of several zinc oxide wires embedded in a moisture-proof epoxy coating layer. The wires are encapsulated in ceramic-filled polypropylene film and linked to a printed circuit board.
