TVS (transient suppression) devices are designed to protect circuits from high (>500V) and fast (>100ns) surge currents. The most common types of Transient Voltage Surge Suppression (TVSS) devices are varistors (known as Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs)) and Transient Voltage Suppressors (also known as Zener Diodes). Transition Micro’s 320LS20AP is a Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode that provides protection against high voltage transients.
