V48MLA1210LNHAUTO is a EPV type metal oxide varistor (MOV) designed specifically to protect direct current circuits such as automotive, communications, industrial, and solar applications. The device is constructed from a proprietary formulation of non-linear metal oxide material encapsulated in a cylindrical-shaped case. When subjected to excessive electrical stress, such as voltage spikes or transient overvoltages, the MOV conducts current away from the protected circuit.

The V48MLA1210LNHAUTO is built to handle a continuous voltage rating of +/-50 V (DC) and a 400 V clamping voltage, as well as a 100 A nominal current rating.
