The V511HC32 device is a type of TVS – Varistors, MOVs. Working Principle
The V511HC32 works on the principle of overvoltage protection. It is designed to provide a high level of protection against transient voltages in both the input and output lines. The device has a breakdown voltage of 7kV and a low clamping voltage of approximately 10-11V. It can protect against transient voltages as high as 36V.
In operation, the V511HC32 operates in two stages. The first stage begins when a transient voltage is applied to the device. In this stage, the device absorbs the energy of the transient voltage and its internal diodes conduct current to activate the protection circuit. The second stage is the clamping stage. In this stage, the internal diodes and varistors limit the voltage on the output line, thus providing protection against the transient voltage
The V511HC32 also has an integrated thermal fuse which will open upon exceeding its trip temperature. This provides an additional layer of protection against thermal stress and helps to prevent the device from being damaged in the event of an over temperature event.
The V511HC32 is designed to provide surge protection, and is an ideal solution for protecting sensitive and critical electronic components from transient voltage disturbances.
