The VA1206K201R014 is a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) device. This device provides protection against transients caused by Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and other overvoltage events. It is designed for use in high-speed digital interfaces such as USB 3.0, MOST and Thunderbolt applications. The VA1206K201R014 is also suitable for low voltage applications such as LEDs, white goods and automotive lighting. The VA1206K201R014 is a two-channel device with two differential protection channels. The device provides protection against ESD and other transient surges per IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) and is rated up to 30 kV (contact discharges) and 12 kV (air discharges). It also provides protection against overvoltage voltages up to 27 V (DC or AC peak).The VA1206K201R014 is a very fast transient voltage suppressor. It has a response time of <10ns and a low capacitance of <15pF. The device is available in an 8-lead MLP package with four leads for power input and four leads for power output.The VA1206K201R014 is a metal oxide varistor (MOV). This type of transient voltage suppressor is made up of a number of discrete metal oxide elements connected in series. When a transient surge is applied to it, the MOV will rapidly discharge the energy to ground and divert the transient away from the protected circuit. The VA1206K201R014 is designed for automotive, consumer and industrial applications. It can be used to protect against transients in automotive lighting, consumer electronics, telecom equipment, portable electronics, computers and home entertainment systems. The VA1206K201R014 is an excellent protection device for applications where high speed and low capacitance are critical. It is also very effective for automotive and industrial applications where ESD and overvoltage transients need to be taken into account.
