In order to switch between the modes, the input voltage is sensitized to the desired AC voltage, and the appropriate mode is then chosen. The VAF512 is designed to automatically switch modes when the AC voltage changes.The VAF512 contains several protective features, such as a thermal cutoff circuit, anti-short circuit protection, and an overload protection. The thermal cutoff circuit is designed to automatically shut-off the device when the temperature reaches unsafe levels.
