It has a wide range of power levels with exceptional levels of efficiency, making it an ideal choice for applications where weight and space are limited.The VAWQ12-Q48-S3R3 is a high power density, two-stage DC-DC converter with an input voltage range of 36-75V DC. It is composed of two stages. The first is a high frequency, high power density converter, which is suitable for high noise/ stress environments. The second is an intermediate voltage DC-DC converter intended to produce a stable output with a wide input range.Its main application fields include but are not limited to industrial systems, automation, transportation, wind and solar energy, power conversion systems, and military and aerospace applications.The working principle of VAWQ12-Q48-S3R3 is based on a two-stage converters which maximizes power density providing a power conversion efficiency up to 96.5%. The first stage acts as a high power conventional switch-mode converter, while the second stage provides a wide input voltage range and excellent regulation.In the first stage, the input voltage is converted into a high frequency voltage by the switch-mode converter. This highly efficient voltage conversion is possible because of the high frequency of the voltage switching. The voltage travels through an inductor that stores the energy increases the current. As current passes through a diode, the voltage that is drop is rectified and the energy is transferred to a capacitor. In the second stage, the stored energy is converted into the desired voltage range. The advantage of two-stage conversion is that it allows for much higher power densities with high power conversion efficiency. Additionally, it allows for flexible design options, such as multi-outputs and current share configurations, which can be useful in a variety of applications.The VAWQ12-Q48-S3R3 is an example of the high power, high density and flexible nature of two-stage DC-DC converters.
