Snap Action, Limit Switches

Snap-action limit switches are designed to act as a relay that creates an electrical circuit when actuated. Principles

When the actuating lever is pushed or pulled, the internal spring-loaded plunger of the limit switch changes position, closing or opening the contacts. When the predetermined closing force is exceeded, the contacts close quickly, and the spring-loaded plunger instantaneously shifts position, releasing the actuating lever. When the force is reduced, the switch is restored to its original position.
