VB027SP6 is a power distribution switch, load driver, and PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) designed to improve performance, reliability and efficiency of power systems. It has been designed to reduce power losses and improve power quality in applications such as industrial and server automation. It is a single integrated-circuit solution that integrates a high-performance Class‑D switch, low output impedance switches, high-side and low‑side MOSFET drivers, protection and feedback functions together.
The integrated PMIC power switch is capable of delivering up to 180mA at 400V. It is capable of operating in loop-sensing (load-sensing) and diode-sensed operating modes. In loop sensing mode, the internal current sensing circuit senses the load current and adjusts the voltage drop across the load accordingly, enabling the system to operate more efficiently. The integrated protection circuit provides overvoltage and overcurrent protection, as well as protection from thermal and short‑circuit conditions.
The integrated MOSFET drivers feature very low output impedance, allowing them to switch at high speeds while avoiding the current and voltage losses associated with other drivers. The output voltage range provided by the drivers can vary from 2V to 50V, enabling the user to configure the driver output voltage to suit the application requirements. Additionally, the integrated feedback loop is designed to detect and respond to output voltage variations in order to maintain the desired output voltage and minimize power losses due to dissipative heat.
In addition to its built-in features, VB027SP6 also features a wide range of features and configurable options. A wide range of input voltage levels and types are available, ranging from 0.95V to 4V, including 5V tolerant and overvoltage protected options. The integrated control and status register provides access to a wide range of registers and programmable parameters, enabling the user to customize the power supply for each application. Additionally, the PMIC can be configured for two, three or four phase power delivery operation.
VB027SP6 is a highly versatile PMIC for a wide range of applications.
