The VGAS120626F540DP is based on MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) technology. MOV technology utilizes a ceramic compound, which is responsible for the variable resistor behavior of the unit. This basic ceramic material has a uniquely resistive characteristic and exhibits a wide range of resistance values in response to different voltage amplitudes. This makes it an ideal material for use in transient voltage suppressors.
When an overvoltage such as a surge or spike is applied to the input of the VGAS120626F540DP, the MOV material changes its resistance state to reduce the voltage amplitude.
