It uses two wire terminals within the handle to grip the cable while applying a piece of pressure to crimp the wire. It is also designed to grip the core of the wire firmly and securely; thus providing optimum connection.

The tool’s design allows heavy-duty crimping on various types of wires – from 22-16 AWG for automotive and electronic applications up to 4/0 AWG for battery cable and welding cable, as well as cables ranging in diameter from 0.75 mm up to 36.1 mm.
