Laser diodes, also known as semiconductor lasers, are widely used in optical communications, optical disc storage, optical sensing, laser printing, laser heating and cutting, laser medical treatment, etc. Laser diode modules are composed of a laser diode and its driving circuit to emit light of required wavelength and power in a convenient form. The working principle of VOL8085I laser diode module is based on the electro-optic effect. In the laser diode, electron-hole pairs are injected into the p-doped and n-doped semiconductor layers. The incident light produces these electron-hole pairs, which are then accelerated by the electric field formed between the two layers. Due to the carrier recombination, light is emitted and the radiation produced in this process is known as stimulated emission. The emitted radiation from the active layer is then amplified and emitted through the top mirror, thus producing a powerful light beam with a characteristic wavelength.
