Optoisolators - Transistor, Photovoltaic Output are used to provide electrical isolation between a device and the electrical device which takes the signal from the output. This is particularly so in applications that would not otherwise be able to exchange digital or analog signals. VOW135-X017T is one such optoisolator with Transistor, Photovoltaic Output.
The VOW135-X017T optoisolator consists of a phototransistor optically coupled to an infrared LED. It has a compact package size with high current transfer ratio and low output saturation voltage. The optoisolator is capable of transferring signals up to frequencies of 140 kHz, while providing an isolation voltage rating up to 5300 Vrms. The signal transfer voltage from the output of the device is typically 2 V in the ON state.
The working principle of VOW135-X017T optoisolator is that the input is an electrical signal (control current) that is applied to the anode of the LED. The LED emits light which then is detected by the phototransistor.
