VP02E float level sensors are a type of instrument designed to detect liquid levels in tanks and vessels. They are commonly used to measure and display water level in wells, tanks, reservoirs, irrigation systems and other water sources. VP02E sensors are often used in industrial and commercial applications for controlling the levels of liquids such as diesel, condensate, water, gas and other fluids in pipelines, vents, transfer containers and more.
VP02E Sensors utilize a highly specialized measuring technology known as differential pressure level sensing. This technology works by measuring the differential pressure between two points on a vessel or tank. One point is the reference point and the other is the measurement point. The difference in pressure between these two points is then translated to a level measurement.
Utilizing a numeric readout display, a VP02E float level sensor can quickly and accurately report the level of liquid in a tank or vessel. The readout will vary from individual units and model specifications, but will usually display a number ranging from 0 and 100. The highest numerical value represents the maximum liquid level, while the lowest numerical value indicates the minimum liquid level in the tank.
The sensor housing itself is designed for harsh and hazardous conditions, and is typically constructed out of stainless steel or chemical-resistant fibers. Depending on the environment, a protective coating may be applied to minimize corrosion and abrasion. The float probe element is typically a plastic-type float that is buoyant and works in conjunction with a spring-loaded rod. The float then moves up and down with the liquid level and is connected to a transducer element which then converts the physical movement of the float to an electrical signal.
The electrical signal from the transducer is then sent to a VP02E controller, or the main display unit. This controller processes the signal and displays the floating level measurement. It encased in a sturdy housing and typically comes with an alarm output, high/low limit alarm, and manual reset button. The controller is usually wired directly to the power source for proper operation.
Depending on the requirements, the VP02E level sensor can be used either as a stand-alone device or in conjunction with other equipment. With integrated signal conditioning and processing, it is perfect for use in water and wastewater process control systems, in agriculture measurement systems, water well level monitoring systems, and many other industrial and commercial applications.
