With its low dropout voltage, the design requires minimal series voltage drops to achieve the required output. This also means that the output voltage stability is improved as the input supply variation is minimized.

The VRE102CA Voltage Reference makes use of a resistor to set the value of its output voltage, which is then trimmed to provide the accurate reference voltage. This features inbuilt bipolar protection which ensures that the device can operate over an extended temperature range between -50°C to +125°C.
