  • VS-16FL80S05 Diodes - Rectifiers - Single Application Field and Working Principle

    The VS-16FL80S05 diode is a single-phase, small size, schottky barrier rectifier with a maximum continuous operating temperature of 175℃, and can be widely used in power supply and electrical power systems. The device features a superior surge current capability, excellent thermal resistance and low ESR, as well as a low forward voltage drop. It is suitable for applications such as LED lighting, UV source distortion, high speed switching and aircraft protection.

    A diode is an electric device consisting of two terminals, anode and cathode, that conducts current in one direction but blocks current in the other direction. The VS-16FL80S05 diode has a two-pin construction, a cathode (negative) and an anode (positive). The current flows in the direction indicated by the arrowhead mark; when the anode is more positive than the cathode, a so-called "forward bias" is created, and a current will flow. The forward bias is produced by the voltage applied across the diode, and the current flows from the anode to the cathode with a low threshold voltage.
