Working Principle

VS-41HFR140 diode is a single rectifier diode that works on a p-n junction concept. This means, it works on the principle of a junction formed between the p-type and n-type layers of silicon.When a bias voltage is applied in the forward direction, the majority of carriers in the p-type layer become less mobile and they transfer to the n-type layer. This, in turn, creates an increase in the concentration of majority carriers in the n-type layer, known as the depletion region. Thus, when a forward bias voltage is applied to the junction, it helps to reduce the width of the depletion region, allowing a current to flow.Moreover, the p-n junction in the VS-41HFR140 diode works very fast and due to its small size, they are able to handle high frequencies and high temperatures.
