Diodes - Rectifiers - ArraysVS-60CPQ150-N3 is the latest member of Vishay’s family of hyper fast recovery rectifiers. The device is designed to meet the demands with regard to energy saving, higher efficiency and higher reliability. It features up to 200 times lower reverse recovery charge compared to conventional ultra fast rectifiers. This advanced technology rectifier is suitable for high voltage, high power, current limiting applications such as: - Switched Mode Power Supplies - Battery Chargers - Isolated DC/DC Converters - High-Frequency Inverters - Motor Drives
The VS-60CPQ150-N3 offers a wide range of performance advantages, including excellent surge handling capability, low forward voltage, and fast recovery time. It also has an improved temperature range and a low inductance package.
The VS-60CPQ150-N3 is a dual rectifier diode array with two independent diodes connected internally in such a way that they can operate simultaneously in opposite directions. Each diode is capable of conducting up to 150A of peak reverse current in a forward biased condition. The forward voltage drop is typically 0.8V at 10A of forward current and the recovery time is typically 15ns. The device is housed in an insulated, lead-free package.
The working principle of the VS-60CPQ150-N3 is based on the use of a P-N junction between a P-type and N-type semiconductor material. When a positive voltage is applied to the anode (positive terminal) of the diode, electrons from the N-type region flow through the junction and into the P-type region, creating a conductive path for current to flow through. The diode is in a forward-biased condition and current is able to flow through it. When a negative voltage is applied to the anode, the diode is reversed biased and no current is able to flow through it. The reverse-biased diode is said to be blocking current.
The VS-60CPQ150-N3 offers outstanding performance advantages such as a wide operating temperature range, high surge current handling capability, low reverse recovery charge, and very low thermal resistance. It is suitable for high voltage, high power, current limiting applications such as switched mode power supplies, battery chargers, isolated DC/DC converters, inverters, and motor drives.
The VS-60CPQ150-N3 is an ideal solution for applications that require fast switching and high efficiency. The device is well-suited for use in consumer, industrial, and automotive applications. It is ideal for use in applications where very low power losses and heatsink costs are needed in order to achieve high efficiency and reliability.
