VS-80SQ035TR is a rectifier diodes with specially-designed ultra high efficiency, providing both low forward voltage drop with low power losses. The device is optimized for a variety of high frequency switch mode power supply applications as well as low frequency rectification.

Application Field

VS-80SQ035TR can be used in wide variety of power-frequency rectifying applications, such as stand-alone power supplies, UPS systems, computer power supplies, battery chargers, consumer electronics, white goods, automotive electronics, communication and industrial power supplies, or any other system or application where a high-efficiency rectification is required.

The device is especially suitable for high-voltage, high-current applications; its expanded operating junction temperature range provides increased product versatility. In addition, it has low forward voltage drop and reverse leakage current, excellent low forward voltage temperature characteristics, high surge current capability, and maximum reverse voltage capability.

Working Principle

The basic function of a rectifier diode can be understood by considering the diode and its associated electrical circuit. The diode is connected in the circuit so that a current is able to flow in only one direction. The diode allows current to flow through it only if the voltage applied to its anode (positive) is more positive than its cathode (negative) with respect to ground.

A rectifier diode converts AC (alternating current) to DC (direct current), which is another name for rectification. When the AC voltage, or input voltage, is connected between the diode\'s anode and cathode, current can flow from the anode to the cathode. When the voltage reverses polarity, however, the diode blocks current, or shuts off the flow. In this way, the diode converts alternating current to direct current.

The VS-80SQ035TR\'s excellent forward voltage drop and low power losses make its overall power supply efficiency greatly improved. This greatly reduces the heat dissipation, so that the device has a higher Safe Operating Area (SOA). In addition, the high voltage capability makes the device highly reliable in application.
