VS-8EWS10STRL-M3 is a Silicon Epitaxial Planar Scollar Diode for surface mount assembly ideally suited for general purpose switch-mode power supply, DC to DC converters, solenoid and relay drivers, inverters and converters utilizing high frequency-switching techniques as well as freewheeling, flyback and clamping applications.

Application Field

VS-8EWS10STRL-M3 diodes are versatile rectifiers designed for high frequency commercial and automotive power supplies. They are suggested for use in unregulated or step-down, the flyback and clamping applications. Features of these diodes include a low maximum forward voltage drop, a very fast reverse recovery time and a high temperature soldering guarantee of 260°C/10s.

VS-8EWS10STRL-M3 diodes has a nominal maximum junction temperature of +150°C and can handle up to 8 A forward current. Its current rating is 0.2 A and its voltage rating is 800 V, allowing it to readily meet the requirements of advanced switching power supplies and DC to DC converters. The body of the diode is made of a special formulation for greater reliability and response times. Finally, its reverse voltage leakage current is very low, minimizing energy loss and ensuring maximum efficiency.

Working Principle

The working principle of the VS-8EWS10STRL-M3 diode starts with the anode and the cathode, which are the main terminals of the diode. When an AC voltage is applied to the diode, one of the terminals will become positive and the other negative. The anode is connected to the positive terminal and the cathode is connected to the negative terminal, thus allowing electrons to flow into the anode and out of the cathode.
