Working Principle
VS-VSKC196/04PBF is a Schottky diode array with built-in multiple Schottky diodes, which operates as a single diode but provides much higher current blocking, higher surge rating and better thermal characteristics. By combining multiple Schottky diodes in one internal structure, it allows to reduce the package size and cost when compared to those of standard Schottky diodes. Moreover, the package’s unique double plate metal base construction can minimize body-diode reverse recovery time.
When the input voltage on anode is higher than the output voltage on cathode, the diode will begin to conduct current, allowing the current to flow through the internal Schottky diodes. At the same time, the diode will block current flows in the reverse direction. When the anode voltage is lower than the output voltage, the diode will stop conducting the current and block the reverse current.
