Introduction

The VSC3108XVP-01 is a digital analog switch (DAS) designed specifically for general-purpose applications. Working Principle

The VSC3108XVP-01 operates using an 8-bit digital interface. This interface is used to control the analog switches, which can be in either the Hi or Low power mode. The digital interface consists of 8-bits of addressable memory, a control register and status register. The command sequence consists of a Write-Read-Write cycle. A write cycle is used to set the desired power mode and enable the switch, while a read cycle is used to determine the current power mode, available power range and switch status. The 8-bit control registers are used to control the internal circuitry and function as the interface control register.

The Analog switches respond to a single-bit write cycle command. When write cycle is executed and the switch is enabled, the switch will be in its Hi power mode. When the switch is disabled, the switch will be in its Low power mode. As for power range, the switch can be programmed to support a maximum of 10 Ohm output power range. This power range is divided into two separate areas, Hi-power and Low-power. When a write cycle is executed, the switch automatically switches to the selected power range.
