VSUU-120-T3125A is a gate-drive isolated AC/DC converter, it works by converting the input alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). This is achieved by input rectifier, which transforms the AC current to pulsating DC. Then the output rectifier, which comprises of a switch, such as an insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), helps in inverting the current and generating the desired output.The converter operates in buck or boost mode. When the input voltage is lower than the output voltage, the converter operates in buck mode, whereas when the input is higher than the output voltage, the converter works in boost mode. Depending on the application, the converter can be operated in parallel or in standby mode. The device functions in parallel mode when the output power needs to be increased. On the contrary, in the standby mode, the device remains inactive and ready to be used whenever the demand arises.To enhance the efficiency of the converter, the device operates on pulse width modulation (PWM) control. This helps the converter control the output voltage of the device with great accuracy and stability. Additionally, the device includes an optical isolating feedback and an in-built frequency compensation circuit which helps in smoothening the power output thereby increasing the efficiency.
