Diodes - Bridge Rectifiers have been utilized in a variety of applications, ranging from household appliances to medical equipment. They have become an essential component in a wide range of electronic, electrical and communications systems. Today, bridge rectifiers are mainly utilized to convert an alternating current (AC) voltage into a direct current (DC) voltage and are widely used in electronic circuits, such as power supplies, motor control, electronic lighting, AC light dimmers, and telecom equipment. The VUO85-14NO7 bridge rectifier is composed of two p-type and two n-type silicon diodes connected in a symmetrical form. The diodes are connected in a bridge form and the positive voltages of the two AC waveforms are connected in parallel to the bridge structure, while the negative voltages are connected in series. This arrangement ensures that the AC voltages unidirectionally pass through the diode and are otherwise blocked in the reverse direction. As a result, a DC voltage is obtained by adding the two rectified waveforms together.

This type of bridge rectifier has several advantages compared to other types, such as easy assembly and thermal properties. Additionally, the VUO85-14NO7 bridge rectifier is smaller and lighter than other bridge rectifier models, offers up to 90 % efficiency in conversion, operates at a low voltage, generates low EMI emission and low power dissipation, and is able to work accurately under an optimal temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

The working cycle of the VUO85-14NO7 bridge rectifier is divided into four states - forward conduction, zero conduction, reverse conduction and blocking. During forward conduction, the alternating current flows from the anode to the cathode. In the zero conduction state, the voltage between the anode and the cathode is equal to zero. During reverse conduction, the alternating current flows from the cathode to the anode. Finally, in the blocking state, both the anode and the cathode are reverse biased and no current flow between them.

These characteristics of the VUO85-14NO7 bridge rectifier enable it to be used in a variety of different electrical applications, such as controlling the output voltage of voltage regulators, providing DC power to an inverter, creating a half-wave full-wave rectified signals in CRT displays, and providing a DC voltage supply to a d.c. motor. Due to its robustness, high efficiency and small size, the VUO85-14NO7 bridge rectifier is a popular choice for designers of electrical circuits.
