WSU150-0800 application field and working principle

The WSU150-0800 power supply is an AC/DC desktop and vertical wall mount adapter from Mean Well. This AC/DC desktop power adapter has a nominal input voltage of 100 to 240V AC and a wide range of output voltage options, including 3.3V, 5V, 7.5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 24V DC. It offers a compact, lightweight and reliable power solution for a wide variety of applications such as IT, manufacturing, healthcare, office equipment, instrumentation and HVAC.

Working Principle

The WSU150-0800 AC/DC desktop and wall mount adapter is based on a switching power supply. It consists of a power rectifier, a switching control circuit, and an isolation transformer. The power rectifier converts the AC input voltage into a DC voltage. The switching control circuit regulates the DC voltage and controls the duty cycle of the output voltage. Finally, the isolation transformer reduces the high frequency ripple in the output voltage.

This power adapter has a wide range of output voltage options that can be adjusted via an external control voltage or a variable resistor.
