The XB24-BCIT-003 is an RF transceiver module which is capable of communicating with a network of other modules to wirelessly transfer data up to 1,000 metres. It consists of an integrated transceiver which contains all the necessary software, hardware and protocol stacks required for the system to function correctly. The XB24-BCIT-003 is used in a variety of applications such as industrial automation, medical, security and home automation.This module enables wireless communication networks that adhere to various communication standards, including IEEE 802.15.4, Zigbee, OTA communication and WirelessHART. By joning existing networks of transmitters, the XB24-BCIT-003 can transmit data over a desired range. The module also has the capability to operate as a standalone device, meaning it can transmit and receive data without being part of a larger network.The XB24-BCIT-003 supports multiple RF frequency bands, including 2.4GHz and 868MHz. It is compatible with a range of current communication technologies, from UART, SPI and I²C to EIA485, UHF and Raw Network Interface, and can deal with incoming data signals of up to 522Kbps.The module is also equipped with an encrypted RTC (Real Time Clock) and multiple onboard sensors that allow for a variety of applications. The RTC is designed to maintain time while in sleep, deep sleep and power-down modes. This enables the module to conserve power due to its low power consumption.The XB24-BCIT-003 is powered using a variety of voltage sources including a digital 3.3-5.5V battery, alkaline or nickel-cadmium cell which are all provided in the module’s hardware. Furthermore, the RF tranceiver is equipped with various power management modes such as duty-cycle mode, cyclic sleep mode, periodic wake-up mode and low power operation. The module’s firmware features a wireless protocol stack designed to handle secure data transmission and communication. It supports data exchange among various types of end devices with a maximum transfer rate of 250 kbps, and can handle incoming data signals of up to 522 kbps. The working principle of XB24-BCIT-003 is straightforward in that it comprises two main data exchange operations. First, the module collects data from external sensors and encodes the data to a digitally encoded form. Secondly, the encoded data is sent in a secure format over the air using its RF communication interface.
