PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuits) are made up of a variety of active and passive devices which can regulate the power output from integrated circuits (ICs) within a circuit. Supervisors are one example of a PMIC, which helps protect the ICs from over-voltage while providing accurate reset timing and monitoring the datasheet. The XC6119N11ANR-G PMIC Supervisor is a highly-advantageous and fully-integrated device designed to be used in a variety of applications related to power management.This particular PMIC supervisor is designed to be used in multiple applications ranging from automotive systems to portable electronic devices. It has an operating temperature range of between - 40°C and +85°C, while featuring a comprehensive protection circuit with a OVLP signal, a active voltage input and an active current input to ensure the stability of the device. It also has the ability to switch the on-board VDDC from three different voltage levels with low power consumption. As a supervisor, the XC6119N11ANR-G allows for precise adjustment of reset thresholds with 3 selectable timeout periods and a minimum of 600nA typical operating current.It also has a variety of features that make it ideal for automotive, industrial and consumer power management applications. It includes an integrated pull-down resistor for enhanced noise immunity, a wide reset hysteresis for improved inrush/undershoot performance, as well as wide range of reset sampler parameters to provide added flexibility and stability.In addition, the XC6119N11ANR-G application support a wide array of microcontrollers, including the N76, S73 and S66 series microcontrollers. The excellent protection provided by the reset controller ensures the safe operation of a wide range of embedded applications while the on-chip power-saving enables a much lower overall power consumption.The working principle of this PMIC supervisor is as follows. It is designed to monitor the power supply levels of mass production systems and embedded applications to protect against overvoltage and over-current conditions. In order to do this, the device utilizes a variety of protection circuits. These include an over-voltage protection circuit, an over-current protection circuit, a reset logic circuit, a reset pull-down circuit, and an active voltage input circuit, which ensure that the device operates at maximum safety levels.When the reset logic circuit detects an overvoltage on any of the power inputs, it will send a signal to the Internal Pull-Down circuit, which will then pull down the reset signal. In this way, the reset controller is able to detect and respond to any overvoltage/over-current events. The reset sampler parameters can be adjusted in order to give the PMIC supervisor the flexibility necessary to work with different microcontroller series and applications. The XC6119N11ANR-G presents a comprehensive protection circuit with an OVLP signal, an active voltage input, and an active current input. This makes it ideal for a wide range of automotive, industrial, and consumer applications. At the same time, its on-chip power-saving capabilities make it an efficient and versatile solution for power management needs.
