Working Principle

If the power supply voltage continues to drop, an Inactive-reset signal is generated to reset the device. There is also a built-in watchdog timer / reset signal generator, which can be used to generate regular pulses to reset the system if the timer is not reset periodically.

The device also has an output for an external power supply, which can be turned off if the voltage drops below a threshold or if an external signal is received. The device is available in two packages, both with a 3mm2 footprint and low-profile mounting height of 0.75mm, which makes it ideal for use in space-constrained devices.
