When an out of range condition is detected, the reset timer (RST) will latch-off to trigger the reset detection circuit (RDS) which will pull the reset output low, placed the system in a reset state.

When the input voltage returns to an acceptable range, the reset timer (RST) will be re-enabled, releasing the reset output and allowing the system to exit the reset state. The XC6123E747MR-G also features a programmable soft-start to ensure the power up sequence is under control. It can also be used in conjunction with a watchdog timer to provide dual level system fault protection.
