XEMR29DX Optoelectronics

The XEMR29DX is an LED (light-emitting diode) array that is designed for industrial applications where a layer of protection is needed for their circuit boards. The XEMR29DX is an ideal indicator for applications where a smaller, more compact form factor is desired or when a larger form factor is simply too expensive.The XEMR29DX LED array can be used as a bar graph or light bar and consists of four board-level LEDs that are surrounded by a single housing with waterproof lenses. These lenses provide UV protection, provide a highly visible light bar when illuminated, and are also transparent to infrared light to allow further light to enter the unit.The four LEDs on the XEMR29DX are mounted on a 4mm pitch and are arranged in a four-way muxing configuration with a common anode or cathode. This arrangement allows for an uncomplicated assembly and provides direct access to each individual LED, in a low-level wiring configuration that does not require any soldering or rework.In terms of its working principles, the XEMR29DX requires only a small amount of power to operate. It operates by generating a low-intensity electric current (current flow) through the LEDs which is regulated by the circuit board. The board then directs the current flow through either the anode (positive) or cathode (negative) pins, illuminating the LEDs in turn.This basic operation is what ensures the XEMR29DX’s ability to perform an array of functions including power status notifications, alert signals and other communications. The XEMR29DX can also be used as indicators in audio and visual equipment, data communications, and other applications.
