Working Principle of XM0825SF-TL1301

XM0825SF-TL1301 RF switch is a kind of SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) switch, which uses PIN diodes for switching paths. It consists of two ports: an input port and an output port. When the switch is in ON position, the current flows through the PIN diodes from the port A to port B. When the switch is in OFF position, the path is interrupted and no current flows between the two ports.

The two ports of XM0825SF-TL1301 RF switch are connected to external circuits and DC signals are applied to the common port. When a positive voltage is applied to the control port, the PIN diodes will be forward biased. The current will flow from port A to port B and the RF signal at port A is connected to the load at port B, thus the switch is in ON state. When negative voltage is applied to the control port, the PIN diodes will be reverse biased and the current flow between port A and port B will be blocked, thus the RF switch is in OFF state.
