Data acquisition is necessary to transform physical parameters, such as temperature, pressure, etc., into electrical signals, which then can be processed for further analysis. Analog front end (AFE) is a data acquisition device that is used for this purpose. AFE includes a variety of components for signal conditioning, such as voltage and current amplifiers, analog-to-digital (A/D) converters and filters.
