Working Principle

The XR77103EVB-DEMO-1 uses the XR77103 high integrated PFC+PWM controller to generate the AC/DC switching power supply to achieve a high performance and transient response. The XR77103 is a high integrated power management IC with synchronous rectification control. It provides the internal gate drive for the power MOSFET with low output voltage up to 20V to achieve maximum efficiency. Additionally, the internal PFC loop is operating in CCM, thus eliminating the need of costly output capacitors. The precise control of peak current and standby power (87VAC), as well as having no current sensing, makes the XR77103 a very attractive solution for off-line AC/DC switching power supply applications.

In the XR77103EVB-DEMO-1 evaluation board, the XR77103 internally integrates a PFC pre-regulator, PWM controller, MOSFETs drive and two soft start switches, allowing the user to easily evaluate the features of the XR77103 combined with a simple external components. The XR77103EVB-DEMO-1 also features a power management function that allows the board to go into a low power standby mode when no load is present.
