This article focuses on one such advantage, the YC324-FK-0728KL.The YC324-FK-0728KL utilizes Thick Film Technology to create a 1⁄4" Chip Formed array of 936 resistors with 0.1 W power dissipation. Configuration of this array can be divided into four major categories: Standard 3-digit Array, Octal configuration Array, Twistor Array, and 2.2⁄Venland Array.The most popular 3-digit array configuration, 0, 0R, R, and RR, is used for precision networks, RF networks, sample-and-hold circuits, data sampling systems, fuel controls, trimming networks, and thermistor networks. The Quad-Octal configuration array supports a range of applications, including transimpedance amplifiers, sample-and-hold circuits, tuned RF digitizers, and pulse-switching amplifiers. The Twistor array is a combination of two 3-digit Arrays, with unconnected resistors. This configuration offers the highest degree of precision for a given application, such as audio mixing equipment, ADC and DAC circuits, and preamplifiers. The 2.2/Venland array is a combination of two networks in an octal pin-and-sleeve configuration; this configuration is used in applications such as audio mixing consoles, logic level switching, and timer matching applications.The YC324-FK-0728KL is constructed using three layers: a Silicon substrate, an Interlayer between the Silicon and a dielectric, and a top layer of Anisotropic Conductive Film (ACF). Variations of this standard configuration can also be specified when necessary. The Silicon Substrate acts as the base for the above layers and acts as the conductive traces for the resistors. The Interlayer is made of a ceramic material, providing a superior electrical and mechanical bond between the layers and a thermal resistance as low as 0.092K/W, making it ideal for high power applications. Variations on this process include the use of nitrogen doping or laser surface removal of oxide.The Anisotropic Conductive Film, the top layer, provides an electrically transparent layer allowing for an interconnect between the resistor layer and the terminals.
