PTC Resettable Fuses
PTC resettable fuses are used for providing over-current protection to sensitive electronic systems. In the event of an excessive current, the fuse will "trip", effectively opening the circuit and allowing for a safe, secure and controlled failure. The PTC resettable fuses feature a self-resetting mechanism, meaning that the circuit can be re-established with a quick push-button, rather than replacing a fuse.
YPBJ5.60T application field and working principle
YPBJ5.60T resettable fuses are made from Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) technology developed by KVARC Corporation. They are designed to protect electrical devices such as power supplies, motor controllers, and diagnostic equipment. The PTC fuse is constructed of two elements--a metal fuse element and a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) device. The high temperature coefficient material of the device ensures that when the current applied to it causes it to heat, it will start to show a high-resistance state, accordingly increasing the temperature and hence lowering the current flowing through the fuse. This causes a protective cut-off to occur. When the temperature of the fuse is lowered, the resistance decreases and hence the current is allowed to flow through the fuse again.
These resettable fuses provide excellent over-current protection with its self-resetting mechanism. Additionally, they can also be used in applications where manual resetting is undesired or difficult to apply. The main advantage of this type of fuse over standard fuses is that it is able to reset itself after each fault, without the need for replacement. They are also easy to mount, are more cost effective than standard fuse technology, and provide higher resistance against low level over-load.
YPBJ5.60T resettable fuses have a current rating of 5.6A, a voltage rating of 250V, and a temperature rating of 85℃. The resettable fuse can handle a maximum surge current of 30A and a maximum holding current of 2.4A. The operating temperature range is -40 to +85°C, and the resettable fuse is designed for applications with LED lighting, medical equipment, audio/vide equipment, security systems, telecommunication equipment, automotive control systems, and other consumer electronics.
In terms of its working principle, YPBJ5.60T resettable fuses utilize Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) materials. When the current flow exceeds the rated current, the conductive element and the PPTC element start to heat up. The PPTC material has such high temperature coefficient that when it starts to heat up, its resistance increases and the current decreases, thus providing over-current protection. When the current drops back below the rated current, the fuse can reset and allow current to flow through it again.
In conclusion, YPBJ5.60T resettable fuses are perfect for applications where over-current protection is required, and their self-resetting mechanism makes them ideal for applications where manual resetting is not feasible or desired. In addition, they offer high resistance and are more cost-effective than standard fuses. Their current ratings, voltage ratings, and temperature ratings make them suitable for applications like LED lighting, medical equipment, audio/vide equipment, security systems, telecommunication equipment, and automotive control systems. Finally, their working principle of using PPTC materials to provide over-current protection make them a great choice as well.
