Working Principle

The YS2165 is a linear antenna with a gain of 2.15dBi. It is a printed antenna composed of a four-ring antenna array attached to a PCB ground plane. The antenna radiates in the horizontal polarization where the incident wave is approximately horizontal. This antenna utilizes a quarter-wavelength dipole design, which has the advantage of increased gain compared to a dipole antenna.

The antenna has low cross-polarization due to the homogeneous phasing of the antenna elements. The antenna also has an axial ratio of less than 3dB, which means that the antenna will not suffer from significant signal loss due to co-polar and cross-polar signals arriving from different directions.
