The working principle of ZFG0120C encoder is based on the photoelectric quadratureoutput principle. A High resolution optical code disc is mounted on the motor，which is enclosed in a detection module, when the motor rotates a certain angle, the code disc also rotates, Beam of light source passes through the code disc, every time the hole pattern is aligned with the light source, the sensing module can sense it, it will export a quadrature pulse series, which is proportional to the angle change of the motor, this process is continuous, as the code disk rotates, the light sensing module .observes it and generates pulses, every group of quadrature pulses which will include trailing and leading edges which correspond to the angles.

The above mentioned quadrature pulse will be output as the incremental output, which can be expressed as A B C. The A indicates clockwise rotation, the B indicates counter clockwise rotation, the C indicates the zero reference position, when the code disc alignment to the light source of zero position, C will output one pulse, and then A pulse and B pulse output in counter-clockwise increament. In the cyclic nature of quadrature output, you know how to observe and judge the angle of body, then the device can track the speed and the size of the body for automatic control.
