The working principle of the ZLNB2007Q16TC involves detecting tiny variations in the signal amplitude, using an external RF signal source. An external RF source is provided to the device, which is then converted into a ±10V differential signal across its two ports. These differential signals are then processed by the device in order to accurately measure the amplitude of the RF signal.The ZLNB2007Q16TC has a unique “variable-gain amplifier” (VGA) architecture, which allows it to accurately measure the amplitude of very small signals, as well as larger signals. This VGA architecture allows the device to measure the amplitude of signals as small as -80dBm, and as large as +3dBm.The output of the ZLNB2007Q16TC consists of two complementary differential signals. The first is a bipolar signal that represents the measured RF power, while the second is a unipolar signal that is proportional to the signal code. As the signal code increases or decreases, the output of this unipolar signal will follow in an analog fashion.Moreover, the ZLNB2007Q16TC integrates an on-chip temperature sensor, which is used to compensate for gain drift due to ambient temperature variation. The temperature sensor operates in the frequency band from 50MHz to 200MHz, and ensures an accuracy of ±2dB over the temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.Conclusion
