Temperature sensors are electronic devices or probes that measure and report the temperature of a given environment or object. The ZTP-115M is a linearized Analog and Digital Output temperature sensor designed for high-accuracy applications under varying conditions. This article covers the various applications and working principles of the ZTP-115M.
Features and Design
The ZTP-115M is a highly linearized probe with a wide temperature range of -40 to 125°C (-40 to 257°F). The probe is fitted with either a threaded connection or a quick-connect terminal block. Optional external compartments for optional lead-free soldering of leads are also available. The ZTP-115M offers a variety of features, including:
- Ideal for type C applications
- High-precision, sensor-based measurements
- Wide temperature range of -40 to 125°C (-40 to 257°F)
- Calibration curve linearized over the full temperature range and available on request
- Integrated software-based temperature compensation
- Design ensures long service life without degradation
Applications
The ZTP-115M is designed for high-accuracy applications under varying conditions. The probe is primarily used in automotive and industrial applications, such as system control and monitoring, electric motors, power converters, power supplies, and other equipment. The ZTP-115M is also suitable for applications such as:
- General purpose temperature control and monitoring
- HVAC control
- Material testing and quality assurance
- Environmental and process control
- Test and measurement
Working Principle
The ZTP-115M works on the principle of thermoelectric conversion. A thermocouple is a device that converts temperature into electrical energy. It is composed of two metallic junctions of dissimilar metals known as the hot and cold junctions. Heat applied to the hot junction generates a temperature difference between the two junctions, resulting in a flow of electrons of the two junctions. This flow of electrons is referred to as the Seebeck Voltage. The ZTP-115M is a type C thermocouple with a temperature range of -40 to 125°C (-40 to 257°F). The ZTP-115M has a high linearity and is temperature compensated. The ZTP-115M contains an integrated software-based temperature compensation. The software-based temperature compensation ensures accuracy and stability even under extreme conditions.
Conclusion
The ZTP-115M is a linearized Analog and Digital Output temperature sensor designed for high-accuracy applications under varying conditions. The ZTP-115M features a wide temperature range of -40 to 125°C (-40 to 257°F) suitable for a wide range of applications like control and monitoring systems, HVAC systems, material testing, and process control. The probe is based on the principle of thermoelectric conversion and also incorporates a high linearity and integrated software-based temperature compensation for accuracy and stability even under changing conditions.
