Embedded - CPLDs (Complex Programmable Logic Devices)Complex programmable logic devices (CPLDs) are integrated circuits (ICs) that are used for two primary purposes: 1) to implement complex logic functions, and 2) to expand data and program storage. The device consists of: four independent distinct 32-bit control/data channels, a memory interface unit (MIU) for accessing external memory, a phase-locked loop (PLL) for generating highly accurate clocks and synchronizing multiple clock domains, and a high-speed configuration (HSC) module to configure and initialize the device.The four 32-bit control/data channels can be programmed in user logic to use a variety of logic functions such as AND, NAND, OR, and XOR. This allows users to construct complex functions and circuits with greater speed and flexibility. The MIU enables the device to access block memory, and the integrated PLL allows the device to synchronize multiple clock domains. The HSC module is used to configure and initialize the device in order to program the control/data channels, memory interface, and PLL.The M4A5-64/32-12VNI is designed with power efficiency and thermal management in mind. It has an integrated thermal sensor that monitors temperature and can adjust its own operating frequency and voltage in order to ensure reliable operation.
