The ALU typically takes input data from the stack, performs calculations on it, and returns the result back to the stack.The program bus and the data bus are connected to a set of interrupt lines. These interrupt lines allow the processor to enter an interrupt routine whenever an external event requires immediate action. Examples of events that can produce an interrupt include timers and I/O devices.Once in an interrupt routine, the microcontroller saves the state of program execution, disabling the program bus and allowing the data bus to access the interrupt vector table.
