The SI8423BD-D-ISR is a dual-channel phototransistor optocoupler designed for isolating signals from a high voltage environment. It can provide an isolated signal with a maximum frequency of 10MHz. The SI8423BD-D-ISR is designed using an isolated optocoupler structure, whereby . The device includes a 5GHz photodiode optically coupled with a photoCMD slave phototransistor. While the photodiode is connected to the transmitter, the phototransistor is connected to the receiver. During operation, current is used to turn on the photodiode optically coupled to the transmitter. This converts the electrical current into an optical signal, which is then transmitted to the receiver and detected by the phototransistor.
The receiver section then converts the optical signal back into an electrical current, which is then used to create a digital signal on the receiver side. This digital signal is isolated from the transmitter side, offering a high level of isolation between the two signals. The isolation voltage of the SI8423BD-D-ISR is up to 8.5kV.
Furthermore, the device is equipped with an external temperature compensation circuit, which allows the user to adjust the output signal amplitude of the device.
